What is Girapps?

Ans.Girapps is a service that connects freelancers (developers) with employers that need custom programming, applications graphics and more done for the mobile app platforms, iphone, android, windows, blackberry, etc. Much like an auction, employers' projects are posted and interested freelancers bid on them.

How do I create a Project and get my App made?

Ans.Become a member of the site and post the details of your project online. Projects are FREE to post at this time.

How can I communicate with an Employer/Freelancer during the bidding process?

Ans.Messages can be posted on the "Project Clarification Board". Located just above the "Bids" section on the Project view page posts are public (viewable by all logged in users and is intended for asking questions before bidding. Alternatively you can send a private message by "Messaging the Project Owner"; here you must to bid on the project first and then you can have private messaging with the owner.

What happens when I win a project?

Ans.Once your bid is accepted as a winner, the employer's contact information is released to you. From there, it is up to both of you to e-mail each other and handle the project. We will be supporting escrow and more features soon.

How much does it cost?

Ans.It's absolutely FREE to browse and sign-up with Girapps. There is a very nominal fee to post development projects. (mainly to cut down on SPAM) See our fees structure here.
Freelancers (Developers) can post their quotations/bids on your project page. A small 5% commission fee will automatically added to their bid and deducted from the Freelancers account upon withdrawal. See our fees structure here

What is the process for accepting a bid?

Ans.When a Buyer and Provider BOTH accept a project bid they will automatically be sent each others contact information. The Provider hass agreed to pay the Providers quoted price (which includes a small girapps commission fee - see our Terms of Use for more details). Once the project is complete the Buyer pays the provider either by transferring funds from their Girapps account to the Providers Girapps account via the "Manage Account" page or, if they have set up an escrow payment, by approving it via the "Manage Account" page. The Buyer has complete control over the release of funds to the Provider and can choose to release partial funds to initiate the project and the remaining balance upon completion, or any other variation of payment agreed upon with the Provider. If the escrow service is utilized, Girapps holds the escrowed funds and will release them once the Buyer approves payment.

How do I deposit funds into my Girapps account?

Ans.Once logged in to your account, to deposit funds, select the "Manage Account" tab at the top of the page, and simply select the amount you wish to deposit. You will be required to have a PayPal account in order to send and receive funds/payments on this website. To open a PayPal account, please visit PayPal You can deposit or withdraw funds from your Girapps account at any time.

How can I be sure a developer will not just steal my idea?

Ans.Girapps recommends both parties sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement (NDA) prior to the commencement of any development work. Please read our Terms of Use for more details regarding NDA's. As a Developer, how do I receive notification of new project postings?

Ans.Log in to your account, select "Edit Profile" and ensure "Notify me by e-mail when a project gets posted that is relevant to me" is checked. Please be aware that you will only be notified of new project postings relevant to the "Area Of Expertise" you have checked. If you wish to be notified of ALL new project posting, ensure you check ALL the boxes.

Why is my account status showing as Frozen?

Ans.There are insufficient funds in your Griapps account to complete a transaction you instigated. To resolve this issue, please deposit funds into your account.

What is your policy on fraudulent listings?

Ans.Maintaining a clean and open marketplace is our top priority at Girapps. Unfortunately, some people attempt to use marketplaces such as Girapps for fraud and dishonest dealings. If we receive a complaint that a listing is fraudulent or the seller is acting in bad faith, it is our policy to remove the listing and issue a refund to the listing party. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time and make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
